Catia Gianessi - voice, tamborello

Catia Gianessi lives in Faenza, Italy and performs as a singer and percussionist particularly with her own Italian ensemble Musica Officinalis.

She studied singing with Luisa Cottifogli and Barbara Valentino of Teatro della voce, Ulrich Pfeiffer (Micrologus) and has attended workshops of body-and-voice therapy (Germana Giannini), sacred Sufi dance, Indonesian dance-theatre (Tapa Sudana) and South-Indian Kathakali dance.

From 1996 Catia performed with La compagnia dell'asino che porta la croce, before she formed Musica Officinalis.
