Outside the restraints of religious rites, musicians and poets through the ages have created euphoric music to celebrate their faiths.

It is the 13th century. Music is forbidden in Mosques and yet mystic Sufi brotherhoods gather privately to sing of their religious intoxication. Christian pilgrims at Montserrat sing and dance so ecstatically that they are requested to perform their celebrations outside the church! Having already observed their formal religious rites in the Synagogue, Jews return home to sing Piyyutim (hymns) informally and joyously. The songs are performed in medieval Spanish, Hebrew, Latin and Arabic.
